    Re: Audio Driver Missing

No I can't hear the Windows start up or any other sounds.

    This also came up:

    Belarc Multimedia:
    SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
    Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device

    Go back here:

    Drivers & Downloads

    Install #4:

Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit

    Reboot.

Subsequent steps would be to try the other two on the list.

Alright I downloaded the first and second files. The third and fourth wouldn't work though.
Heres what happened for the third and fourth:

Do you have a PCI sound card or is your audio on the motherboard?

Are your speakers plugged into the upper edge area on the rear of your computer or towards the lower middle?

    They are plugged in lower.

That means you have a PCI sound card. You need the drivers from that manufacturer.

If you have no idea about this you need to open the computer and ID that card.

You should have a driver CD for it as it was added to this computer by someone other than Dell.

The Dell drivers control the motherboard ports.

You should see the same type green port up near the upper edge. Try moving your speaker plug there.
