Hi,

I'm fairly computer illiterate, and tried my best to get sound from my computer but get nothing. The only symptoms i can give is that:

-In Control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>Sounds and Audio Devices Properties it says i have no audio devices and everything is greyed out.

-In Control panel>add hardware>add hardware wizard asks have you connected hardware>click yes>i select multimedia audio controller (has yellow triangle with exclamation)> the drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)> hardware update wizard, install software automatically (recomended)>the hardware was not installed because the wizard cannot find the necessary software.

Hope that makes sense, really need sound as i'm overseas and apart from email skype is the only means of contact with my parents.

Really appreciate any help, computer details below.

The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.
