can not install chipset drivers
I have an acer aspire E500 and I just reinstalled windows xp I tried to install the chipset drivers and I get an error. "INF error Video driver not found" however I have the latest ati video driver installed. In device manager ethernet controller has a question mark beside it and I can't seem to find the driver for just the controller so I assume it is in with the chipset drivers so how can I get the driver to install? Thanks for any and all help.

What was your source of drivers? Did you get the drivers here:
http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers...pire_e500.html
The LAN driver is for internet.
If you are using a third party graphics card then those are the display/graphics drivers you want. Otherwise the onboard are listed above.

yes this is were I got my driver I also got the ati radeon driver off the ati site. I just keep getting that error Video driver not found

If you have an independent ATI card is your onboard VGA disabled?
Did you try the LAN driver for your Ethernet?

ok I got the lan driver installed now it says I need the multimedia video controller driver I did not see it there on the list? were can I get that? thanks again for the help.

Do you have an ATI graphics card or are you using the ATI VGA controller on your motherboard?
If the former than disable the latter and get the drivers from ATI.
If the latter remove any drivers you got from ATI and install VGA ATI 8.282 from Acer.
