Driver for Canon camcorder wont work

    Hi,

I have a a Canon MV600 camcorder which I am trying to connect to my PC to download some footage. But, there appears to be some problem with the driver. Here are the relevant specs:

    Windows XP (incl SP2)
    Pentium 4
    1394 port
Canon MV600 camcorder connected via above 1394 port
    Software:
DV Messenger (with WIA 1394 driver)
    Pinnacle Studio V7

The software which came with the camcorder was DV Messenger (see above) which appears to come with a driver known as a Camera Storage 1394 WIA driver.

When I try to connect the camcorder I hear the "plonking" sound which says that my PC has recognised I am trying to connect some device, but that is as far as it gets. When I look on the device manager it shows the MV600 under "Other Devices" but it says it cannot find the driver.

I have searched hi and lo on the internet (including of course Canons website) but to no avail, I simply cannot find the right driver for this.

    Can anyone help please.

    Gavin

I have the same problem with the MV600 and can't seem to get round it. Did you find a solution?
