Re: Direct X or Video Driver?

Yes, Direct X 8 and 9 ran without any problems. I would like to see if I can resolve this problem before going on to buying a video card. Any recommendations for a video card?

    Depends on the motherboard.

Post back this scan so we can see:

    http://www.d-a-l.com/hardware-scan.php

You could try older drivers just to see if you can find a better match for your system. At NVIDIA they are listed under: Product Type: "Legacy".

    http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

You might also load the drivers from eMachine if you haven't already:

    Description Motherboard Driver Package
    File Type Original Driver
    Version -
    Operating System Windows XP
    Read Me File Download

    Slot Designation AGP

You would need an AGP card. I would assume just by dating that your AGP is 4X. Most cards you will find are 8X/4X. In other words it could run at 8X but your motherboard will only run it at 4X.

The current "standard" is PCI_E 16X.

Anyway where are you? I will look for some shopping links.

Also I'd suggest installing that driver package if you have not done so already.

I reside in Florida. http://www.pricewatch.com/ I was looking at this site, it has some fairly cheap stuff on it. I was wondering if it was legit or not.

    Really. I'm in Florida too.

    I like Newegg myself.

Here is their AGP 8X/4X section:

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...me=AGP+4X%2f8X

You can use the menus on the left to narrow down your search.

These cards are basically inexpensive. The format is almost obsolete. Anyway almost anything would be a major upgrade compared to your onboard chip.
