After reinstalling win xp ,I get no sound .Belarc Advisor doesn't detect soun card-I think it is on motherboard(Via Technologies,KT600-8237).Another forum suggested downloading a driver which turned out to be Realtek, this installed and is recognized asmultimedia by Belarc but still no sound.Any suggestions........Please go gently I'm a Newbie!

You need the driver specific for your motherboard.
If you don't have the driver CD go to their web site and insert your exact model and then get the audio driver.
If this is a brand name computer then go to their web site. e.g. Dell; HP; etc.

Thank you Jephree for your prompt reply,I have visited the via tech site(my PC is not a "named" one) and they have a choice of drivers, none seem to match my motherboard info .....which I got from Belarc Advisor(I am unable to download the hardware scan your site recommends my AVG reports it has a TRojan horse Generic 5BO. I attach Belarc system scan :
Advisor Version: 7.2v
Thank you in anticipation,Keith
