I would clarify whether or not you are plugged into the motherboard or an AGP graphics card.

In post #1 it was said "I installed a graphics card".

Look at the back of the computer and look where the monitor is plugged in.

Is it vertical near the upper edge or horizontal near the lower middle part of the case?


You are also running threads on an XP computer. Is this a different machine?

You have correctly identified the BLUE graphics output port. Are there two blue ports like this at the back of your computer?

Is your monitor cable connected to a port next to a green mouse port and a purple keyboard port at the "top" of the PC? Or is the cable connected to a blue port at the "bottom" of the PC, separate from the others?

For your information, your display settings are 640 x 480 pixels and 16 colours. "16-bit colour" does not mean the same thing.

Acer may have a driver for you but you need to ID your computer model.
