    Printer not working

    Hello all,

I hope you can help me.

    I have a Canon Imageclass MP390 printer.

When I try and print I get an error message "paper thickness lever position'. i have looked over the printer, taken the paper out and replaced it, turned it off and on and nothing works.

On my computer I uninstalled the printer drivers and reinstalled them off the CD Rom.

Interestingly, when I use my printer as a copier then it works fine. Somehow, when I try to print off my computer I find that I have problems in encountering the error message.

If someone could offer me advice then I'd really appreciate it.

    Sincerely

    TKing

    Hi TKING

I had a similar problem with my printer (Canon Pixma MP160) and i found it was not the printer but the Page Margin size within Word 2007, this may not apply exactly to your problem but it may be worth your time to check.

    Did it print before?
Also...it should be a lever inside the front door of the printer to set paper thickness (heavy card stock vs regular paper)

    Dear all,

Thank you for your suggestions. It was a simple fix in the end as the lead from the tower was loose in the socket of the printer. Of course I looked for all the difficult things first but on the other hand I'm glad it was nothing more serious. Thank you all very much for your assistance - I really appreciated it.

    Cheers

    Terry
