    My sound wont work!

Sorry for the crappy Title, I really didn't know what else to put.
Anyhow, I just recently reformatted my computer. I was running really slow, so i decided to reformat it to make it run way better.
Got everything going good, everything is running fine.
But for some reason my computer wont find my sound card.
I've done a lot of research to fix this problem and everything on google takes me to DAL.
I was reading one on here that was very similar to mine, a moderator named Dan Penny awnsered it very well.
Even though it was similar, the guy with the problem had a different sound card then I.
If I follow dan's instructions, I think it wont work because I have a different sound card, so I decided to post this.
The thread can be found here http://www.d-a-l.com/help/showthread.php?t=51948

Here is my sound card (I found this out using Everest since no other program can find it.):
    Device Description Type
    SiS 7012 Audio Device PCI

Please help me fast, I was looking at the time they posts where posted and it was quick, hopefully I get the same great help.

If you need anymore Information then just ask.

    Thanks!

The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.

If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.

Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.

    Alright, here's the results:

    Manufacturer: ASUSTek Computer INC.
    Model: P4S8X REV 1 .xx

    That was in Mainboard Tab.

What should I do with it?

    Thanks

When I opened Audio, a whole bunch of download links popped up.
I went to the first, WinXP, because I'm using WinXP.
I opened the compressed folder and I cant find where to Install the driver.
All the folders ask to be opened in a different program.
There is except one that allows me to view signatures... I don't know what to do.

    Open the Device Manager

right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager

Look under "Sound..." or "Other Devices" for "Integrated Audio"

right click then choose "Update Driver"

    Install from a list:

    Don't search I will choose:

    Have disk:

then Browse to the file you downloaded from ASUS

    ........

Just to note if you have the original motherboard Driver CD you can just install from there as well. Might be easier.

Also you should have installed all Windows updates as well as SP2 prior to any of this.
