installing the drivers unfortunately did not change the situation. (ive checked double checked and triple checked all the stupid stuff, my on board sound is enabled, volume control is not muted, i uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, four times, went to device manager made sure all things were working properly, i cant seem to find a way to get sound lol
Sorry to butt in here, but if the drivers that owen directed you to didn't work. (Theoretically they should have.......)
Open sndvol32.exe and quadruple check that all basic required elements are enabled and volume is up. (wave, midi, cd audio, etc)
If all is OK, and your speakers are "known good", as an extra measure download, install, and run Everest Home Edition on this machine. (Clean FreeWare) Once it's finished loading and running, click on Report, Report Wizard in the Menu Bar. Save the Hardware related pages (the default). Save it as an HTML file (the default) in a location of your choice. (It will default the location to C:\Program Files\Lavalys\EVEREST Home Edition\Reports.)
Add this report(.HTM) document to a .zip (compressed) file. Please Attach that .zip document to your next posting.
(When posting, click on Advanced, and just below the posting box you'll see "Additional Options", and within that, "Attach Files". Click on "Manage Attachments" and follow the prompts. Browse to the file location on your system and choose UPLOAD.)
Also, for extra measure, I've attached the RealTek README for driver installation. (Should be fine for all versions.) I realize you've probably been through all this, but the Everest Report may reveal elements which haven't been covered yet.
Dan Penny:
Sorry i didnt get back to you on my other post, here is the .zip folder containing my report. Also sndvol32.exe cant run because there are no active mixer devices available.
