    System restored, audio drivers not!

My computer (HP Pavilion a645c) crashed last week and I had to reinstall Windows XP and perform a system recovery. I've managed to save pretty much everything, but my computer is now running INCREDIBLY slow and I also can't get the audio to work.

I've tried reinstalling the audio drivers, but in my "Sounds and Audio Devices Properties," it says that I have no sound playback devices to choose from.

Per the HP website, I believe my audio driver is the Realtek AC97 Audio driver, whatever I'm doing isn't working. Please help!

Yep, I loaded it from that exact site and then installed, rebooted, etc. Didn't work at all... Any other ideas?

What is listed in the Device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers?

Also anything listed under Other devices?

Device Manager = right click My Computer then click Manage then Device Manager

The devices listed under Sound, video, and game controllers are:
    Audio Codecs
    Legacy Audio Drivers
    Legacy Video Capture Devices
    Media Control Devices
Realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA (R) Audio Controller
    Video Codecs

There is nothing listed under Other devices

Yep, that was the first one I installed, rebooted, etc., no luck. Then installed the update, rebooted, etc., no luck. Any other routes I can take?

    Did you reinstall SP2 first?
