    Deleted sound card.. please help..

Hi, you're probably sic of hearing this from people, but I've gone and deleted what I think was my sound card (the blue crab icon?!) and emptied my recycle bin, then realising that my computer was not making a sound..

I've looked time and time again for help on this, but nothing makes any sense to me...

We had a new motherboard put into our PC, it's an ASrock K7VM2... think that's right. Anyway, I tried using the disc that came in the box to re-install the driver, but I just got completely confused and I don't want to mess up my PC..

    Please can anyone help??

Here's a hardware scan if it's any use? Thanks!

    Hello, and Welcome to D-A-L.

Are you using on-board sound or a separate add-in card? (PCI etc)

First, (if you haven't disabled on-board sound in the machines bios), then invoke a hardware scan through Device Manager. (Highlight (select) the very top item and click on Action, Scan for hardware changes. It should find the "deleted" hardware, and (re)load the last working drivers.

If it's an add-in card, windows should find basic workable drivers for it. If you want all the bells and whistles for the full operation of the card, you'll need the cards software either from it's CD, or download the package from the manufacturer.
