New computer. Installed windows xp professional.
Installed all my other drivers without a problem, but when I got to the SoundMAX ADI1986A driver, I got an error message saying:
"The audio driver files do not support your computer hardware."

I'm getting the Soundmax audio is built into your motherboard? If so, you need to go to the manufacturer of your motherboards website and find the latest driver, download this and it should hopefully work. There is a list of some PC and Motherboard manufacturers on the Soundmax website here which may help you.

The best source for audio drivers is the computer manufacturers web site.
If the computer was custom built then go to the motherboard manufacturers web site.
Go to the driver download section and insert your model number. The drivers will be there.
If you are one of the very few people that actually installed a PCI "Sound Card" then you should have the drivers CD for that card or again go to that manufacturers web site.
