Hello in my device manager i have a yellow ? by s m bus controller and it says no driver installed when I try to troubleshoot.
Any one out there with the solution prob really simple but not for me

The SMBus controller is the 'System Management Bus controller'. It's part of the Intel chipset on your motherboard.

Problems with the SMBus controller typically indicate that you didn't install the Intel INF update utility, also known as the Chipset Software Installation utility.
This is easily fixed by installing this driver from Intel:

Thank you I have gone to the link but am not sure if it is compatable as I have intel core 2 duo 6400 and this is not listed should I download it any way

I only see listings per Operating Systems: not specific CPU's. There is nothing in the Read Me stating CPU compatibility. So that being said I would say yes; it is worth a try. An incompatible driver usually will tell you that it is when you try to install.
