It might help us help you could post that thread link.

Also what is the make and model of your computer?

Do you know if a Sound Card was installed on your computer or is the Audio on board as it came from the manufacturer?

I have no idea what a thread is. All I want to know is what to do to get sound back. IF you read my first email to you, I thought it was enough said to tell me what I should do. OK, first of all I have Windows2000-XP. I have no sound. I did have sound until I removed the Sound Max from Add&Remove. I did have two Sound Max at one time, I had my computer worked on once, and the guy put another one in, and I deleted one. And just today I deleted the other one, per yours' or someone's advice to a similar problem posted. OK, if you do not answer me, I guess I'll just keep on looking until I find someone to help me, or tell me what to do.

The thread would be the other post you saw.

What you have said is not enough.

We need to know the make and model of your computer.

The drivers you need will be on the manufacturer's web site.
