Hi and welcome to D-A-L
when you bought the machine was it not set up and running?
is the sound muted?
The machine is custom made by an internet company.Originally Posted by brain_damage

I installed the drivers it gave me with the computer. The audio driver is Realtek AC97. I also tried looking on the internet for other versions but all was to avail.
What I do know is that the computer does detect speakers and stuff when all sound card drivers are uninstalled asks me to install them and when i do it still doesnt work.
And no its not muted.
this is your motherboard

have you been in touch with the company who built it?
I've emailed them. No ones replied yet but i should phone them to ask them about the problem.
Wont other driver work for this sound card??
5.1 channel, Realtek ALC653 (AC’97 interface)
I have looked on the Foxconn website FAQ which says...
>>>>I have install the entire audio driver and device manager said that it is working properly but I got no audio. Why?
Verify that the volume is not set to mute. If possible verify that the Front Audio is disable when it is not connected to the front audio panel. To disable Front audio see picture below: pin 5,6 and pin 9,10 should be short with jumper.<<<<
What is a front audio? How do i disable it? There was no picture on how to disable it on the website.
have you got sockets on the front of the case for speakers/mic/aux input?
Yes there is 3 sockets. I have connected my speakers to speakers socket which is Line In (blue one).
ye sline in is blue.
have you tried the speaker sockets on the back as well as the front?
Front is just mike and headphones.
I've stuck the speakers in the back sockets.
The computer actually thinks its playing the music but no sound is coming out.
Foxconn website say something about disable the audio front or something and chaning it to short jumper... whatever that is?
