Hey guys!

WEll I wiped out my laptop (dont ask why :\) well i reinstalled Windwos XP...its fine it works okay now. the only thing is, now I cant get onto the internet even though im in range of a connection. I dont even see the little wireless internet icon on the bottom of my toolbar.

My roommate says I need to reinstall the wireless internet Driver. well I cant find the Manufacturers CD for it.

Any help? ideas? Please!?

Did you reinstall XP SP2?

What is the make and model of the laptop?

I reinstalled Windows XP professional...im not sure what SP2 is.

my laptop model is a Gateway 3040GZ

SP2 is Service Pack 2 which is the latest version of XP.

Many processes depend upon it.

After reinstalling XP go to Windows Update via All Programs.

okay so i dont know if this means anything, but i looked through my computer and noticed that i have something called Broadcom NDIS installed on my computer..is that the driver?

since this was like two years ago, i doubt you still have this problem, but for anyone else with the same problem, this happened to me, and yes, it is the drivers. i have a dell laptop, which is nice because after i had to reformat my computer, dell support helped me download the drivers i needed (there were nine by the way). so call your support line, or go to the website of your company and look for something along the lines of "downloads and drivers" and try to find what you need. Lesson learned: know what you're doing before you reformat, unlike what the author of this thread and I did.

yeah that might work but i suggest deleting your system 32 file, it is more then likeley corrupted if that dosent work i would get in contact with chris hansen

Hello everyone. I'm new here. I have a toshiba satellite m105-s322. I did the same thing as the author of the thread did. I installed windows xp home. But I cannot connect to the internet even though the computer is in wireless internet range. What should I do? I dont have the original cds b/c I bought this computer used. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
