I have had to re-install windows xp on my p.c. but dont have the motherboard driver cd, all is working ok, but for the sound driver, I cant find it anywhere, it's onboard sound, not a sound card. I cant find it on the ASUS site, has anyone got a driver cd, they can run a copy off for me, or know where I can find the driver?
Thanks,
Mike.
hmm how old is the motherboard? this could help me in locating the driver or finding one for youwho is the manufactere of the onboard sound mate? let me know
There is a 3 part driver on the Asus site:
http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us
Motherboard > Socket 775 > P5GDC
Cmedia CMI9880 Audio driver V5.12.01.0008.51.61 for Windows 2000/XP/2003 part 1 of 3
Please download all 3 files (CMI9880-5120100085161-*.zip), extract them into one folder, execute CMI.part1.exe.
Hi! thanks for the offer of help, I don't think the Motherboard is very old as I only bought the p.c from 'Mesh' in December last year, the trouble with Mesh is they don't supply any software on c.d anymore just the 'Back up' cd which re-installs win but leaves you without the motherboard drivers.Originally Posted by marc
I have emailed Mesh but they have not been at all helpful yet, no reply!
The sound chip is 'Creative' and had a 5 speaker set connected to it if this helps,
Thanks a lot for trying,
Regards, Mike.
