    Unhappy Webcam installation

I just reformated my computer for the first time in over a year. I have a Magicvision usb Webcam DR-CM200. I lost the installation disk for it so I went to a site and downloaded them. What do I do next to get my webcam to work? Please help me!

What is your Operating System? XP?

What exactly did you download? Can you post a link to the site?

    Is this it:

    http://www.iomagic.com/Products/show...rodID=DR-CM200

It lists drivers for Windows '98 only. XP should load its' own drivers.

With XP you should not need drivers.

    Go to: start/run services.msc

Scroll down the list and make sure that Plug and Play is started and set to Automatic.

You should be able then to just plug in the camera.

If you do and it doesn't work let us know what exactly happens. You should hear a little sound indicating that the computer sees the camera. You may get a new hardware balloon.

If not then what does happen? Anything at all?

windows should automatically detect plug and play items like jephree said but if it does you should intall the drivers you downloaded and then plug in the camera
