    Laptop AC adapter drivers

The battery drivers wont install with XP/MCE. I have done a search and found the latest Microsoft drivers here http://www.soft32.com/Download/Free/...-170628-0.html, but cannot download them and cannot find them anywhere else. Anyone any ideas how I can fix it for my Centrino CL56?

Try going to start > All Programs > Windows Update

Click on the Custom button. Any Microsoft drivers relevant to your computer will be shown there.

What is the exact make & model?

Centrino CL56 -Is that an Intel Notebook?

What is the exact issue that you are having? Why do you feel that you need drivers for your battery/AC adapter?

Is this a new problem? Were things working OK previously?

The manufacturer of the laptop would be the best source for drivers.

Compac Centrino. Everything installed fine with previous windows, but this is an install of XP/MCE. Now everytime I start up it needs to install the battery drivers. They are needed so when I run on the batteries it keeps track of how much power is in the batteries. All I need is somehow to download those drivers.

Do you not have the original driver / installation CD that came with the laptop? All required drivers should be on there. Even a "restore CD" which only has a hard disk image, rather than full Windows installation files, will still often have a Drivers folder on the CD. If there isn't a specific driver for the battery (and, to be honest, I've never seen a manufacturer issue a battery driver before), then you might find that ensuring you have the correct motherboard or chipset drivers may help.

Compaq's web site doesn't actually list a CL56 laptop so I'm unable to see if there are any drivers on their web site. If you want to try yourself, the page is here: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...eC?lc=en&cc=us

Let us know if that helps
