the speakers are plugged into the green port on the computer..yes it is near the keyboard and mouse etc....its colour co-ordinated...green speker plug..into green port

where are your speakers plugged in; near where the monitor, keyboard, mouse etc are or near the bottom? (possibly near a modem if you have/have had dial-up)
