Is this on-board Audio or do you have a PCI card with this chip set?

If on-board the computer manufacturer is the best source of drivers.

Or the motherboard manufacturer if you system is custom built.

What is the make and model of the card? Have you checked the manufacturers site for drivers?

Is this a new problem? Was this card working OK before? Any coinciding installations and or issues?

Check the Device Manager Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc for any Yellow "!" and or listings under "Other Devices".

and the card was working fine before i suppose.but there was no recording device.so i suspected the driver wasnt installed properly...also when i installed th e new driver i could record and stuff. there were no audio issues..but then the restarting started.and i dont think there were any coinciding installations
