    Motherboard??? what motherboard???

Ok so here's the jist of the issue. Grabed my mothers old computer for my kid so he can play tetris and cards and croc and all his little games and stuff so he wouldn't jump on my pc and total it. being the paranoid wench my mother is she wanted the HDD ripped out and scrapped. So here I am with a computer over 10 yrs old with no drivers. I throw in a HDD, network card and a modem incase my girlfriend decides she needs the net. try windows updates to see if they'll give me the hardware drivers I dont have. No luck. Then I realise I cant find the model of the Motherboard to find the driver myself, I know there's usually one written on the main board but I've searched this damn thing and cant find it. So I come here and do a little scan. the scan goes "hey! You're a Motherboard! What type of motherboard are you?" and the response it gets is "I'm a Motherboard???"

The scan has come up blank, so I cant find a driver for a board that doesn't know it exists
and the pc runs as slow as a constipated monkey. Installing and running anything effectively on this thing requires I **** miracles and that aint gonna happen, too many sharp edges. I've also noticed that finding drivers for the other parts, such as the onboard graphics or sound device is about as easy as obtaining free sex without the annoying 6 month commitment to get it.

Anyone that can help me on this has the touch of god!

Slow! No wonder! Especially with Windows 2000.

    The Cyrix 6x86MX processor

The 6x86MX is an MMX enchanced processor. This chip has 64KB of internal level 1 cache and runs at a plane voltage of 2.8V (VCore). Like the original 6x86, it has an excellent integer performance that outperforms all other 6th Generation processors (including the Pentium 2) when compared at the same clock speed. However, like its predecessor, it also has a poor 32bit and floating point performance (FPU). The processor fits in a Pentium class (socket 7) motherboard and runs on a totally CISC system. The similarity to the 6x86 does not end here, and it thus also uses a PR rating system (albeit a more complicated one called the PR2). Based on this system, the PR2/166 is equivalent to a Pentium 166 MMX. PR2/200 is equivalent to a Pentium 200 MMX, and PR2/233 is the equivalent of a Pentium II running at 233MHz.
Drivers for your graphics chip are out there:

    SiS 5598/6326

    http://www.google.com/search?q=%20SiS%205598/6326

That processor indicates an IBM machine.

Perhaps it is a SiS board. Do you see a SiS label on the board?

The age of the board might be making it undetectable by today's scans.

    Try these:
