    Emachines D2685 audio driver

Hi, I reformated my hard drive and I'm missing my audio driver. I don't know which one to install.

    I have a Emachines D2685.

DriverGuideToolkit worked for me with my graphics driver but not for my audio driver. There is a Unknown Device displayed on the Unknown Devices window and it is: 82801DB/DBL USB EHCI Controller (ICH4/ICH4-L B0 step).

    What is that device?
Can someone please tell me which driver install for my audio card?

    Thanks
    -FreakY

Expand Downloads (+) for Audio Driver.

    http://www.emachines.com/support/pro...es&model=D2685

The Chipset driver above might also clear your USB issue (http://www.google.com/search?q=%2082...%20Controller).

I would reboot to be sure it didn't work.

Also maybe the chipset driver might be needed first.

Is the USB device still listed under Other Devices? (Other Devices is Windows way of saying it does not recognize said device).

    Check Start/Run/ dxdiag | Sound

Also Control Panel | Sounds & Audio Devices

Is there a device listed? Any info there?

What do you mean by USB device?? If you mean the device shown at DriverGuide Toolkit?
82801DB/DBL USB EHCI Controller (ICH4/ICH4-L B0 step) is still being recognized as an Unknown Device.

It seems like it isnt recognizing any audio device, here is a screenshot: http://img194.echo.cx/img194/3124/untitled9fm.jpg

Look in the Device Manager: Start/Run/ devmgmt.msc under Sound: anything there?

Also look there for: Other Devices.

I don't understand why the eMachine driver will not work. Was there anything in the install process to notify of any problem?

    Or did it indicate success?

Supposedly, there was success in installing the drivers, but it doesnt appear that they worked.

Kinda at a loss myself dude.

Those eMachine drivers should be what you need.

You don't have a PCI sound card; do you?

Were things OK with your sound before you formatted?

    Any other problems since?
