    Recovery Disk

Is there anywhere that a person can get a replacement Recovery CD for a Thinkpad?

You can contact IBM and order the disk(s).
There'll likely be a cost associated with them if the system is out of warranty but I imageine it won't be too high for the security of having it if you need it.

If this is a newer model, it may have a system recovery partition instead...you can probably check that out on their website or contact the support people.

    Thanks

But I guess I don't need it anymore.
My financial advisor has allowed me
    to purchase a new laptop.

Therefore I won't need the original
    software.

    Again, Thanks

If you aren't going to need the laptop, then I have a suggestion for you. find a senior citizens group, or a boys or girls club, and after taking personal data off the laptop, donate it to them, it will give either the seniors or the kids a chance to learn more about the systems.

Actually, that is a very good suggestion.

However, I only meant that I didn't need the software to do what I couldn't
    get it to do.

I build somewhere in the ballpark of 10 computers a year and they get
donated to families that have school age children but can't afford a computer.
We load these with the basic Corel Suite software as well as Games, and
Educational software based on their age groups.

I have an add in my local paper for donations of old computers and software.
But I do like your suggestion as to the other places to send some.

By the way, the problem I am having is that with Win 98 I can't get the
PCMCIA slots to work. They recognize a card being inserted, load the drivers,
but when I pull up the properties I get an error that says to click button
to enable IRQ Steering. However, when the computer is rebooted, I get the same error.

I thought that possibly the original software would cure this.

I've downloaded and installed all the drivers and utilities on IBM's website
and no go. Then I called IBM and they no longer have the original software
    for my machine.

    Thanks
