intel graphic driver help
A few times lately, when logging on, the microsoft box occurs with the statement that "the system has recovered from a serious error..please inform microsoft..etc.etc) When I check the cause of the error it refers to a intelgraphics driver and sends me to their website. That website offers to download a new driver. If I ignore this message, I can generally go on working..But twice my font has suddenly grown to large print size and a message pops up saying "the ialmrnt 5 display driver has stopped working normally." I am told to reboot..I do that and things are ok again. I'm a bit of a computer novice so I need help on what I should do. The display driver message is the driver installed on my computer. I have windows XP and recently installed the new service pack. Any help would be appreciated..Thanks.

why not download the new driver?
sp2 has many compatability issues. A few are seen at intel:
http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/
(type xp sp2 into Search)
if all these issues are post installing sp2 you might consider uninstalling it untill these issues are addressed by the issuers.

Good advice - if Microsoft gives you a link to update your driver, it means they've tested it and it should work OK. No point sticking with a graphics driver that doesn't work if there's a better one you can download.

Hi, I have the same problem as DJNafey, except when i reboot my computer, no windows pop up comes up to tell me what happened so I do not know where to download the new driver. I have been to the Intel website and browsed around and found some drivers. I don't know what drivers I should download so if anybody can help me get the download for the graphics driver, it would be greatly appreciated. I have a Intel(R)82865G Graphics controller.
