I just purchased a used Argus DC2200 digital camera which came without the software. I was given a site to download the driver:

As a novice, I've had a horrendous time trying to get my Windows XP home to locate the drivers after downloading. I put them in a temporary file but the message was negative on finding the driver. Is there anywhere I can go to find out how/where I should download this file? Does it matter that this is a zip file?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated,

Did you download the zip and then Extract the files from the zip? If you just copy the zip to the temp file without extracting the files inside, Windows XP will not find the drivers.

how do i get the software for my camera model dc1512

Try searching the www.DriverGuide.com web site to find a downloadable copy of the driver files. The download will be a ZIP file, which is a compressed folder containing lots of other files inside it. Extract the contents of the ZIP file so that the files are all saved separately onto your PC. If you don't have anything on your PC that can do this, get a copy of Winzip from http://www.winzip.com.
