Question_content=hi all i actually bought a hard drive unit with 80gb western digital 7200rpm and whaen i try to install it on my board thr detection hangs also whaen i set configuration to auto it hangs and can not detect my hard drive and it tells me to hit f4 to skip so how i can make it work my friend have the same one and the same hard drive but works ok a friend do it to him and i can not and he can not reach him
he has the same bios version and i did not find any update at your website so if it works without updating bios how i can do it

̀ highly doubt that the bios you have recognises an 80GB hdd in full.
Maybe there´s some trouble with the 32GB bios limitation, since this is a sumwat oldfashined computer (no offence tho).
There is a way to make it work without updating the bios, if its down to that problem. To make the whole 80GB available with a bios that limits detection to the first 32GB u need a diskmanager software like the Ontrack Disk Manager, which will be installed in the MBR of the HDD and makes the entire 80GB useable under Windows.
But what is more likely is a problem with the jumpering of that hdd. Doublecheck that the jumpers on the HDD are set properly (Master/Slave..depends on your setup
