    Uninstalling NVidia

Ok i uninstalled my nvidia drivers through control add/remove before i got my new ATI card, but just today, due to my recent freezing problem, MS said it was a problem with a NVidia driver, which was weird because I uninstalled it, so I searched for 'nvidia' for files and folders and nothing came up, any ideas?

I did an nvidia-ati upgrade last week, and found this which worked for me:

uninstall your current nvidia drivers from add/remove programs. also download the detonator destroyer tool from here http://www.majorgeeks.com/download806.html

boot to safe mode (not necessary, but nice) and run that tool to get rid of any traces of nVidia drivers.

then power down (make sure you unplug the power cord from the power supply), put the new card in, and boot up like normally, installing the latest drivers from www.ati.com

the catalyst 4.7 are the latest, but if you are going to play doom 3, you may want the 4.9 beta's as they have a fix for it.

i installed the 4.7, and doom3 has crashed once out of about 2 hours play but i cant say for sure that it was driver related. good luck!
