Sure. This will make your computer run like new. Until you get online and
the same infections happen all over again. Which might take less than 20
    minutes!

You will want to install SP2 from a CD or create a "slipstreamed" XP SP2 CD to install before you go online!

To keep your computer running properly, you must practice "safe hex". In
addition to a good firewall, you need a good antivirus. And you need
protection from spyware and other malware. Without ALL these protections
plus regular visits to Windows Update, you will simply get infected again
and have to do this all over again.

    I have nothing at all!

PS: I want GOOD programs, not ones that pop up everytime something loads or something

If you dont want to "slipstream" SP2 the first thing you need to do is go to windows update & download/ install it.
If you want some info on "slipstreaming" & you have a CD burner let us know.

This will provide you with an "ok" firewall. Inbound; not outbound. Any firewall besides SP2 has to be configured. The first time you use it you will have to aprove or reject actions your computer takes. This takes some effort.

I useSygate Personal Firewall (free) it needs to be configured. I also have all the security that is recommended (above) by jephree and rarely have any problems.
