what is the make & model of your computer?
also look in the device manager by going to START > RUN > devmgmt.msc
look under sound... etc. (click the +) post back what is listed.

hi jephree,
I FOLLOW your instructoin and I click on sound, this is the list which found:
Audio codecs, legacy audio drivers, legacy video capture devices, media control devices, MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device, realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA(R) Audio Controller, Standard Game PortK, unimodem Full-Dupelx Audio Device, Video codecs
those what I found in sound list

ok
realtek AC'97 Audio for VIA(R) Audio Controller
most likely this needs its' drivers back.
the best source would be your manufacturer.
what is the computer?
(for example):dell dimension 2400; hp presario 007; ibm xyz; etc. ?
