    windows 98 video driver issue

it seems that this is rather common.

I wiped a laptop and installed win 98.

now win 98 has forgotten what kind of video driver to use to give me anything more than 650 x 400 rez! Absurd.

So i need to find the right driver, that much i have figured out.

Trouble being, where the heck i can get it.

The Machine is an NEC, Versa LX, and the display drivers on the NEC site require pre - installation onto floppies (which seems riduculous, but i am willing to take that measure).

The other odd thing is that neither Everest OR Windows can seem to detect the Monitor.

    Any help would be awsome!

Does Everest say what type of video card is installed?

If you've got Internet access on the laptop or a method of downloading a single file and transferring it to the laptop (e.g. with a USB drive), you can download a single ZIP file and extract it to the C:\ drive in order to install it:
