I downloaded a HP driver for the deskjet 5550. When I try to execute it it does nothing. Any ideas?

I see this instruction:

Important: according to HP, the printer's cable (USB or Parallel) must be unplugged before installing the software.

I have followed all the HP instructions until I get to the part that says to double click on setup. That's where everything stops. Acts as if the system doesn't know what to do (same as me)

I followed the instructions completely several times. When I get to the part that says to double click on setup nothing happens. I have tried running setup on something else and it works fine.

Don't know much about printers but have you tried the Printer Wizard in the control Panel?

Are you running 2k or XP? Do you have the appropriate driver version? Just thinking out loud.
