I have the same problem, since I bought my Pinnacle Studio 9 in 2004.

Using other formats like avi or mpeg does not cause the same problem sometimes.

This is a typical dump when I try to compile a DVD that is even only 20 minutes long:

I even downloaded the patch 9.4 from Pinnacle but things got worse. In the past, I was
able to compile a 30-minutes DVD, but now, it is not even possible to compile a 20 minutes DVD.

I tried the Pinnacle Studio 9 software 4 months ago on a super PC with a Pentium 3.2 GHz CPU running Windows XP with service pack 2, the last updates, ATI X800, 4 gigabytes!!! ram, and 600 GB harddrives, but it did not help either. The same or similar messages came up.

Pinnacle does not even react to my emails or complaints.

Did you find any solution?

I might switch to the Apple Macintosh environment.

OK, Ve2cy. From my experience of working on a software helpdesk, I'm surprised that Pinnacle couldn't come up with any answers. Let us know if you get the same problem on a new PC and we may be able to come up with something different to try on a different system (I would suggest that you should install and test Pinnacle before you load up all your other software so that you can rule out a conflict with another program).

If you can, I would still recommend trying out Visual Basic 6 Service Pack 5 (link given in my previous message).

Re: microsoft visual c++ runtime error hi i found an easy simple way to fix: (microsoft visualc++ runtime error), what i did, i created a new user name and password. then after i did this i opend on pinnacle studio icon i right clicked on program and opened the program RUN AS
once opened RUN AS.. will ask you: which user account do you want to run the program?
you should DISABLE (UNMARK) the: protect my computer and data from unautorizes program activity. Disable ONLY for pinnacle program. next you can keep you account or change user. click ok an problem solved.
I had endless nights with my pinnacle program i just start to render and after couple hours i get runtime error, but since i have used it this way, my program working proply, my sound used to start and just go away, but since doing this,everything working. made 2 dvd"s today.

Hi guys,
after spending many hours around this problem, I've come up with a solution to my installation of Studio, hope this will work for you too.

That's what I've done:
1) uninstalled Studio totally that means:
- Uninstalled everything related to Studio, including its USB drivers.
- Deleted any folder left out after uninstall process.
- Run Pinnacle RegDelete version 8.x:
Pinnacle Systems - Product Support - Studio version 8 - Tools - Download Area
2) reinstalled my AUDIO card drivers (Creative SoundBlaster)
3) installed latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2008
4) installed Studio 9.0
5) installed Studio 9 patch:
Pinnacle Systems - Supporto prodotto - Studio Plus version 9 - Aggiornamenti Software e Driver - Studio version 9

That worked fine for me, hope this will help you.
