    Cyrillic characters in Notepad

    Hi there!

All texts with Cyrillic characters in my notepad look like gibberish. I tried to change the font to Cyrillic, but it didn't help. What should I do to make them legible?

So, nobody can help? Really? BTW, it's Windows 7 I'm using if that information is essential.

Sounds like your default keyboard got changed and you need to reselect the proper one. See how to do that here:

Unfortunately that's not the case. My keyboard settings are alright. It's the way the notepad displays texts in Russian or Ukrainian. If I download from the Internet a pdf or a word document with Cyrillic characters, they are displayed properly, but when I open any notepad file, this is what I see: Źąź ńņąņü ļīėčćėīņīģ Äģčņščé Ėåīķčäīāč÷ Ńļčāąź Źąęäūé ėč ÷åėīāåź ńļīńīįåķ īāėąäåņü čķīńņšąķķūģ ˙ēūźīģ? Źąźīé ˙ēūź öåėåńīīįšąēķåå čēó÷ąņü? Ńółåńņāóžņ ėč ķąó÷ķī īįīńķīāąķķūå.

As I have already mentioned changing the font in the notepad file doesn't help.
