Hi Broni
After another call to the manufacturer about the only thing the person could suggest was changing the extension from mp4 to mpg, which didn't work.
I don't know if I want to pursue this any further, or make an issue of it. The thing does play avi so I am happy with that. Be nice if you could install VLC on to a TV, or set top box, maybe I should suggest that to them.
After the last post I found a freeware mp4 to avi converter called Pezera on CNET. Did a pretty good job in converting the files. I chose a fairly high quality encoder, from quite a good range of choices, and ended up with larger files. Apart from the fact that when unzipped it left a pile of files on my desktop (why don't they put these things in a folder?) I can't see any reason why it only rated 3.5 out of 5.
I have downloaded the Media Coder, that looks pretty impressive so I am sure it will get used in other situations.
On the subject of transcoding, I have transcoded aac to mp3 and not noticed a drop in quality. Probably upset some Mac people saying that but what the hey.
Thanks again for your help on this, and for the links. CDBurnerXP is moving to the quick launch area soon. I shall make you my software consultant, what with that, TFC, and Media Coder, you seem to know where all the effective, and minimalist (I like that), solutions are.![]()
Hahaha....I love freebiesI shall make you my software consultant
That was kind of stupid, since you know, that AVI works without a problem.the only thing the person could suggest was changing the extension from mp4 to mpg
Let me know, if you have any other questions![]()
Stupid? I would have said desperate.
As for other questions, I think we are done with this thread.
I shall probably be back if I need advice.
I shall leave you to wax your board ...LOL
Loooooooool
Hi Striver,
Which DVD creator do you have in mind? There are 12 million hits on Google. A link would be handy.
Thanks for the suggestion.![]()
