    Arrow Server Account Locked

I have this Win 2000 server and i have an administrator account been lock by itself. Even if you have untick the selection after a few minutes or even reboot it will come back and lock the account.

Second thing is that i cant start up the DHCP client services. How to solve this problem?

Is there any thing i can do? Please advise

    Thanks

As for the dhcp server, I'm not sure. Try to open up a command line (windows key + r followed by cmd) and then type in sfc /scannow and have your disk ready; note the space. As for it bringing up the login screen thats something you can't get around that I know of even if it isn't checked to look the system when the screen saver comes on. There is suppose to be a way to have an auto login but I don't remember how. I'd think though with a server that you would want all the security that you can get.

BTW a general rule of thumb to expect a reply is 24 hours. After all we are volunteers that have other things that we must do & most of us do this in our spare time. I hope that you can understand that.

I have try and do the command you have given me at run type cmd. when i try and scan it pop out an massage that it require a copied dll file from the original cd. It requires me to insert the Windows 2003 server Application CD. Is that process normal? what will it happen after this scan? Will it change any of the files inside?

Hey no problem i really appreciated your reply and all the help i can get . Thanks

Windows 2003 or 2000? Your first post said 2k. Either way that test is to scan the system files for errors and, if necessary, replacement. That said, insert the disk. It will just replace damaged files necessary for system operation which, in your case, is quite possibly related to the dhcp client service not functioning.

I really don't know what to tell you. The login screen is always there starting with 2k. Do you have to enter a password to get back into the account?

for automatic login you can go to users under control panel, click change the way users log in to this computer, and select automatic login. you can't have a password on your account to do this and must have one account on the pc. i can't advise you as to the dhcp issue, i'm not a windows expert.
