    password protection

I have a large archive which I would like to close in one folder and protect it by a password, without lengthy crypy/decrypt procedure.
Can anybody recommend some appropriate and efficient program (preferably free)?
    Thanks

My Lockbox found here: My Lockbox - Files and Folders Password Protection - Hide Folder Lock Folder Password Protect Folder - FSPro Labs

Seems to fit your requirements. The basic version is freeware or you could up grade
to the 2009 version for $10.00

    Hi idr

    Hope the programs is OK.
I would like to advise you that whilst many freeware programs do give varing degrees of support.
Support is not guaranteed with freeware that's why I mentioned the paid for version.
The archive folder you a locking a is obviously important so $10 dollars is not to much a price to
pay to ensure you have support should the program become troublesome.
I would to hastily add that I have no connection to the program and found it
    through: Gizmo's Freeware Reviews
My main point is that if the archive is important freeware do not always give support.
    Whilst paid for usually do.
So when you decide what program you use.
Make sure you have support should you have a problem with the program.

    Jim
