XP Black is an illegal copy of XP which has been "distributed" in about 15 or 20 different "flavors". It has a bunch of third party software integrated into it. The fact that it is an "unattended install" illustrates that it's illegal.

A quote from a source on the web, I've edited it for possible links/sources etc.
windows black like stated above is an illegal copy of xp which has an unattended installation process with a ton of integrated software. The developer goes by ****** and has put out at least 15 different versions of xp all tweaked in there own special way. There is a whole community of people that just tear apart windows and modify them beyond belief just for fun I guess. Keep in mind that they are all illegal copys and not what we like to represent here.
I've read that there is hidden virus's in some of the distributions.

So be forewarned. If you choose to download/use the illegal XP Black, you won't find any links to it, or help for it, on this site.

Anyone posting links to it will have their posts edited to remove the links, and receive a short ban to the use of this site.

    NOTE:
There is also an XP Theme (“Royale Noir”) which can be confused with XP Black. This theme is just a color scheme and is safe to use. (I use it myself.)

My apologies, I wasnt aware it was illegal. I just prefer XP to vista but I like the look of vista and black sounded like a mixture of the two.

No apologies required. I just had to point out that it is an illegal version and as such, site rules dictate no links/help will be tolerated.

Many people prefer XP over Vista. Vista was yet another rushed release of a "new" O/S from MS marketing. Windows 7 is the O/S that Vista was "gleaned" off of. (I see there's a new thread of yet another "Downgrade from Vista to XP" which I'm heading off to. Hopefully they haven't killed Vista before determining if XP drivers are available for the existing Vista machine.) :nervous: EDIT: Oh, I see that post is you.....

XP is now considered (more or less) stable after years of many tweaks and three Service Packs to work out the bugs. (It too was a rushed release, Windows 2000 being the embryo.)

PERSONAL OPINION/RANT: Marketing marketing marketing. Push it out there, people will buy it. 90+ % of the world runs on Windows. $$$$$$$$$$$
