Can I remove old updates of Java?

9Ok well first of all, hopefully this is the right topic to post this under.

I am trying to free up some space on my computer. And under Add or remove programs, I noticed that I have three updates for Java that are taking up at least 119 MB. Can I remove what I think are the old updates without causing any problems? These are the titles of them:

    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10

    Can I remove updates 6 and 9?

Yes you can. Actually, it's a good practice to remove them once you install a newer version/update.

I couldn't agree with Dan more. So many times I have been called round a mates house to fix something on his pc and I find that much rubbish installed on it. I would recommend going over your installed programs once a week until you are used to seeing how much junk is accidentally installed. DELETE DELETE DLETE!
