Nero, Bad company with bad products!
I want to tell everyone about my Nero experience, I feel it’s only fair. I recently bought Nero 8. I did so because I had bought a previous version and I really liked it. However since I bought it, I have had nothing but problems. First off let’s start with the fact that it crashed my computer and I lost 2 months of data. Next lets move on to it infected my system and messed up all the files so that Windows Installer wasn’t able to uninstall any programs. This caused me to have to reformat the hard drive. Also before I reformatted I had been using Roxio 9 and after I installed Nero it caused my computer not to recognize the optical drive. After all that and the reformatting of the hard drive it now works. Well at least partially. I tried to burn my purchased music to a DVD using the Jukebox CD option, which it magically has a transcodeing error. So I went out and spent another $25 on blank CD-R’s. I get them home and start burning them, and I only get 5 CD’s done before it stops working. Now I can’t burn CD’s again. Now that you are aware of all the problems, let’s talk about the support I get from Nero. Or should we say lack of support. I have contacted Nero about the problems and have gotten told its not there problem its Dell’s and that they will never give a refund and that I am out $80. Not to mention they are very rude and want me to pay $1.30/minute for tech support, so they can tell me on the phone it is not there problem that it is Dell’s. Well in this case it isn’t Dell’s, it is Nero’s problem. Sad fact is they don’t want to admit it. So in closing I have decided that I will never use Nero again nor will I ever recommend that someone buy it. I will give all my business to Roxio and will recommend and only support Roxio products from now on. I guess Nero isn’t really concerned about losing customers. Bad products from a bad company with bad customer service and bad tech support.:bigmad:

I guess if you were experiencing problems with Nero, they should fix them for your for FREE, charging you for customer support is something I've never heard of before. Well, I used Nero 7 and worked perfectly, but then I wanted to try Nero 8 and only could install it on my computer, it never worked, so I didn't even think about buying it.
Thanks for sharing your experience anyway, I will keep it on mind.

It costs $1.30/min to even call customer service. Some things just don't work unless you buy the full version.

Sounds like a bummer to me. Thanks for sharing.
