i have an HP PSC 750xi printer that won't function properly all of the time. items sent to the printer go to the printing queue and aren't printed. I used to be able to resolve the issue by disconnecting the printer (it's a USB printer) and then deleting it from my computer. then, when i plugged it back in, vista automatically reinstalled it and it worked fine (multiple attempts were sometimes required). after a while, vista would not automatically install the printer by plugging it in like it's supposed to, and i had to resort to using the "add a printer" feature to reinstall the printer manually, even though vista is supposed to do that automatically for all USB devices (it still does for everything else except the printer). i was told to go to the device manager by a friend of mine and make sure that my printer's driver is installed properly, but my printer doesn't appear in the list, nor is there even a printer category. my printer still works about 10% of the time, but the other 90% i can't seem to get it to do anything at all. i even sometimes (meaning most of the time) get a "USB device not recognized" message when i plug it in. I even tried using other USB ports with no effect. the printer works fine with my roommate's computer, so i'm sure that it's functioning properly and that the problem is with my computer. any feedback would be greatly appreciated. ican be e-mailed at westons_world@yahoo.com. Thanks.
