I'm assuming you are referring to SPYWAREBOT (http://www.spywarebot.com/index.php)

The following are far superior to SPYWAREBOT and have free versions.

    SUPERAntiSpyware

    AVG AntiSpyware

    SpywareBlaster
    : -

a-squared (although not as good as the three I have mentioned above, IMO): -

    Other
free general housekeeping products are as follows: -

    Spybot Search & Destroy: -

    Ad-Aware 2007: -

Read up on them, configure them properly, as per the websites and help files, where appropriate, remembering to update them very frequently.

    Good luck.

Apologies. After re-reading my reply, I should have also mentioned to run them on a weekly basis, remembering to update them first.

The one product that does not scan for malware, virii, etcetera, is SpywareBlaster. This extremely efficient product, IMO, actually prevents the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted software; blocks spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox and restricts the actions of potentially unwanted sites in Internet Explorer.

I would also advise you to stop using Internet Explorer, if you are not already doing so, and use a more secure and stable web browser such as Firefox or Opera, as per the following: -

    http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/products/firefox/

    http://www.opera.com/

    Good luck.
