    Software Headache...??

 A few days ago I downloaded Adobe Photoshop CS2 Tryout version while awaiting for the Real Thing to Arrive... I noticed after the download that the Adobe Icon (Blue Feather) was adjacent to alot of files on my laptop that had previously been the original file ie..word doc etc...

The problem came to roost today when trying to open a CD used for my work. The "Folders" showed up, but when I clicked on the folers to see the files, the Blue feather Adobe Icon sat next to the file.

I opened properties and tried to change back to the word .doc but,... it didn't work.. I get a screen with choices... Windows(default), MS Dos,. and one more... I can't remember,, oh well..

Anyway.. Any Idea's ...????? Should I remeove the Adobe and start over..? or is there an easier solution...??

    Thanks In Advance...

Right click->Open With->Choose program you want->Select "Always open with this"

    Does that work?

    Hey Tyler,..
When I right click and go to "open with".. for this Powerpoint lecture..

It reverts back to to pdf file... and doesn't respond ..

All the rest of the file do the same... stay pdf, except for the Excel..

The Excel's files open okay,.. but that is the only one that seems to work..Also the Excel file wasn't converted to a pdf file...

This is what I get when I open the Powerpoint lecture ...
    %PDF-1.4

    Thanks,..

If i am not mistaken, during the setup of Photoshop there will have been a mention of making Photoshop the default application to open certain files. Most people do not worry about it and just skip past it.

If this happened on your install you will be able to go in to the Photoshop settings and change it back again.

I remember now,.!!!!.. that this option did exist, when Downloading this program..!!

That is where this problem originated..!!.... BUT.. when I looked for

the "settings"... there does not seem to be a specific file to address this..???.

well.. I know it is there.......But I think it is Hiding from me...???? :idunno: [/B][/B]

If you can't find it you can try this:

Go to start>control panel> folder options> file types. Scroll down the list until you find the file type you want and click on 'change' to change which program that file opens with.

    Hope it works for you
