I have a problem with my new notebook and it's a little hard to explain

When I log on to a forum (any forum) the icons at the side of each thread have changed to indicate that someone has posted in a thread. I then go in to that thread and read/reply and then l use the backspace key to exit the thread.
Normally when I exit the thread, the icon will change colour to indicate that I have read/replied. This is not happening and it's driving me crazy! :angry:

At the minute I'm having to manually refresh every time I exit a thread.

The only thing l can think of is installing my OEM version of XP Pro but this will probably invalidate my warranty. This is happening in all browsers as well.

Have you tried to clear your cookies?

I never had any cookies on the new notebook Tyler
I've deleated them a few times and re-installed Fx 3 times (just to be sure)
