Laptop not recognising wireless network.
My new Notebook came with built in wireless card. The problem is it's not finding my wireless network :? It finds someone else's every time however.
I ran the wireless network set up wizard and entered the SSID listed on my router but still no luck
Any ideas? (In simple terms please)

I wanted to try to hide my network from floaters. So I hid it and you needed to know the exact name along with the other stuff to access it. The only computer that had issues connecting was my husbands TabletPC. Even though I had all the info correct (SSID and all) it didn't want to connect. So I unhid my network..and of course it works. Not sure if that is the problem you're having though

Hiya Christina
I completely opened my network to everything to try and sort this problem out but nothing seems to be working :?
It's strange that it's detecting a signal from somewhere else and not the router that is at the side of me.

Doesn't that just suck! I hate troubleshooting connections.
You double checked to make sure all of your settings are correct? Include the type of encryption? etc?
-
Well i've just reset it to factory default and it's still not working
I'm going to sleep on this and try again later :?

You can find APs with 'hidden' ssids quite easily jfyi

I could lie about it and say i knew but i don't :?
I've just been checking and unchecking everything there is to check and eventually it started working
I daren't turn the laptop off now in case it dies again
