That's why I didn't d/l it till just recently haha. I totally dislike the lil box with the 4 diff. colours.:angry: So I just keep the icon out of my site :mrgreen:

Great post. covers all aspects concerning the security of a computer.

I just installed and used Avast - it detects very well, but since i'm not an expert on comps I ended up deleting stuff I shouldn't have. So who ever uses this becareful.

I heard Kaspersky was one of the best antivirus software around, but it doesn't even appear in your list. Now, I'm using ZoneAlarm tools which works perfectly in my computer. You are totally right!

I use spy-ware Terminator it's a freeware.

It scans for virus and spy-ware, the virus part of the program is rubbish but the spy-ware ware part is very good.

My set up is XP
AVG7 freeware
AVG anti rootkit freeware
Spy-ware Terminator freeware
Spywareblaster
Zonealarm

I used to have Norton System Works but I uninstalled the virus scanner and just run the other parts of it about every couple of months or so
Norton Win-doctor, Disk-doctor, Speed-disk etc

One other thing I do, is to clean out all my temp-files.
Go through all your disk, put a short cut to a new folder on the desk top then it take two minutes to clean out the lot and what a lot of rubbish you will find.
