    Losing amended email attachments

    Hi,

Hope this is the right place to ask this question.

I received an email with a Word attachment.

I opened the attachment, made some changes and 'saved' it. What I should have done, of course, was to save it to a different location, eg My Documents. (Whereas, I assume I saved it to a temporary folder.)

Is this file recoverable? (As I saved it, I assume it might be.)

If I open the attachment again and 'save' it, I can see it appears in a 'Temporary file'. Is the old one somewhere like this?

Any help much appreciated - as ever.

    Thanks in advance,

    James

    Hi Corinda...

Yep...you are right...you should have saved the Word attachment to a folder like your "Desktop" or "My Documents"...the reason is when you open a file attachment, like a Word file, it actually opens and creates the required "tmp" file in Temporary Internet Files folder and when you saved the "amended" file it saved it into a another folder the TIF folder...

Try the instructions from the link below to try and recover your file...
