I am trying to extract a iso image program file from winzip, to burn on to disk, but after extracting the file it still appears as winzip file, its size 2.88GB. When the program file is extracted a second time, I save content files to a folder but its size is much smaller at 183kb.
I don't think this is right as I believe the image iso to burn to disk should be only 1 uncompressed file. I would appreciate any information on extracting the file the right way.

I don't think that ISOs are compressed at all & depending what one it could contain 1 file or many files. I know that WinRar will extract files from an ISO. If you can't extract the files from the ISO with that then it might be damaged.

Why do you need to open iso file?
What kind of iso file is it?

Most likely when you installed WinZip you gave it all file type permissions.

As ISO is not zipped but WinZip or WinRar et al will take it unless you set your file settings otherwise assuming you gave it full permission or in other words a standard or recommended installation.

In such cases you should always choose the Advanced option and set your own settings.

You need to go to folder options > file types and disassociate any program with ISO files.

Afterwards you may need to re-download the ISO.

You then need an ISO burner such as:

ISO Recorder v 2

This adds the option to your shell (right click) to "Burn Disk Image".

If the file itself does not download as an ISO it is useless.

ISOs are neither compressible nor extractable.

I have spent the last week downloading via limeware (it is so slow, I should have bought the 0S X 86 software if I had known it was goin to be so slow, I could'nt even use the PC for normal use for a week). The software I am downloading is iso's of mac OS X, as i Have signed up for the dev membership in 2007. I could not find the advanced option in winzip to change. is it there?

I'm sorry but our terms of service prohibit us from helping with pirated software.

I was following the 0S X 86 project on Wiki, and had re-set folder options, but your right it is pirated software. I will save to buy a Mac computer instead.
