1st post so please be patient! I have an older sony laptop runninng MS Windows 2000 Professional which includes word, excel, access etc. I wanted a more upto date laptop with bigger screen etc so bought one with Vista Home Premium - I didn't like MS home & student so uninstalled it. I now want to find an MS software suite I can install on the new one and still have the MS 2000 programs read and edit the files. I have downloaded MS word, excel viewerto the old but no editing provided by these. An additional complication is that I carry out some work and often send files to XL running 2003 from old laptop which is fine and would buy 2003 for new laptop but don't think it runs on Vista? Any ideas / advice for my problem would be so appreciated. Many thanks.

My Mom's Vista system runs office 2000 just fine & my Dad's runs office XP. Technically (according to MS) only 2003 and 2007 are compatible with Vista bit you can put 2000, XP/2002, or 2003 if you can get a copy of any of them.

So grateful for your help - will try your suggestion.
